Emerica team riders invade Puerto Rico! Emerica riders Andrew Reynolds, Kevin Long and Bryan Herman landed in Puerto Rico last Friday, November 7 to embark on a ten-day Baker tour of the tropical island paradise. While intermittent showers have played havoc on the crew’s plans for street skating, their demo-filled itinerary has been keeping them more than busy enough. If you happen to live in P.R. or are planning on being there anytime soon, check the info below. Maybe you can make it out to meet-up with the boys. If you can’t catch the action live, look for a Patrick O’Dell-penned article on the tour in an upcoming issue of Thrasher. The Emerica crew is joined by fellow Baker teammates Jim Greco, Jeff Lenoce and Evan Hernandez.

Got an email from Emerica pro Aaron Suski today. He’s been impressed watching all you Emericaskate.com members really taking ownership of this site. Here’s what he wanted you all to know:

"I’m still in chilly NYC at the moment, filming with tight-ass, squeaky bushings for the 5boro vid, Word of Mouth. I plan to fly back to sunny Arizona for a short spell to get some last-minute footy and make it a wrap for the 5. Immediately following my trip back to Tucson, I’m flying to Georgia for a Satori tour and filming mission for the upcoming Satori vid that will be released sometime in January. The trip will include a possible demo on November 30 at Progressive skatepark and another demo on December 6 at Ambush skate shop in Kennesaw, Georgia. After the fun-filled trip with Satori, I reckon on flying back to NYC for the premiere of the 5boro video (date not yet set). The rest of my journeys are still unknown, but I will keep you posted."

What a nice guy, huh? Sounds like all you ATL heads better keep an eye out for the Suskinator. He’s heading your way soon!

Emerica rider Leo Romero came and stayed at the Emerica "team room" (recently vacated due to Spanky’s departure on the Baker tour) in my apartment in Hollywood last weekend and he brought with him Emerica flow rider Angel Ramirez. Man, these kids are gnarly. Here’s what went down:

Friday: Backside 50/50 on a nine-flat-nine double-kink rail (Leo)
Saturday: Kickflip 50/50, kickflip 5-O and backtail shove-it on an eight—stair hubba (Leo)
Frontside 180 over a sixteen-stair rail to flat (Angel)

Did I mention Leo did all his tricks repeatedly and within seven tries? No? Well, he did. In fact, the kickflip 5-O went down first try. I’m not kidding when I say these kids are gnarly. These two pendejos locos are currently back in Fontana, probably trying to hook-up a ride out to destroy some more Southern California skate spots as you read this.

More Emerica team news:

LBC local, Austin Stephens is planning on getting back on his board this weekend after being sidelined for a few weeks with a bad ankle sprain. Ed Templeton saw a Sonic Youth show over the weekend. Tosh Townend is gearing-up for the LG Pro contest being held in Pomona next weekend. Erik Ellington is working on an interview with photographer, Atiba Jefferson, and last but not least, Heath Kirchart has something big up his sleeve. Stay tuned for more…

One last-minute reminder:

The Tempster’s got a new art show coming up called The Prevailing Nothing. It will be held at the prestigious Roberts & Tilton gallery in Los Angeles from November 15 to December 20.
