The Central Emerica tour of Panama and Costa Rica is all wrapped-up and Emerica riders Heath Kirchart, Kevin Long, Leo Romero and Bryan Herman are all sunned and tanned and heading home today from San Jose, Costa Rica. I’m happy to report that the entire tour went off with only one snag worth mentioning. About eighteen months ago, we had an Emerica signing at Ranas skate shop in Costa Rica that drew a crowd of over 300 Kids in Emerica that nearly shut down an entire city block in the tiny town of Liberia in the county of Guanacaste. A near-riot ensued as the devoted skaters from this relatively remote region came out en masse to meet in-person some of the Emerica pros they’d only seen and read about in videos and magazines.

Thanks to the brotherhood amongst skateboarders, nothing bad actually happened, and everybody remained calm and got a chance to meet the Emerica team during our visit. This time around, we had another signing scheduled for Ranas, but it turns out that the necessary approvals were not granted to Ranas to hold the appearance once the mayor of Liberia caught wind of Emerica’s plans to revisit the local skateboarders of Guanacaste. So, if you’re a skateboarder from Liberia and you happen to be reading this, sorry we missed you this time around and we hope to see you again as soon as you get everyone you know to vote that skateboarder-hating mayor out of office. Viva los patinadores!
Back in the U.S., if you’re among the unfortunate few living along the East Coast who happened to miss the Emerica team on the East Coast Kids in Emerica tour, then you may still have a chance to meet some of the boys live and in-person in the coming few weeks. Emerica team riders Andrew Reynolds, Kevin Long, Bryan Herman and Braydon Szafranski are leaving California on April 1 to embark on a nearly three-week-long Baker East Coast Tour along with the rest of the Baker crew. Check the dates and locations below and be sure not to miss this one if it heads anywhere near your way. Show up in your Emericas and get a FREE autograph from any one of the Emerica riders on the tour!
