There are a lot of projects going on right now for the Emerica team. Andrew Reynolds, Erik Ellington, Kevin Long, Bryan Herman and Braydon Szafranski have been working hard on their parts for the upcoming Baker video. As if filming a video part isn’t hard enough, Erik is also working on an interview for Thrasher, and Spanky is finishing up one for The Skateboard Mag. Heath Kirchart has been working on an interview for The Skateboard Mag, as well.
Be sure to check out an upcoming Fuel TV show on the Goofy vs. Regular contest. Leo Romero and Matt Allen were in the Emerica office last week doing some interviews for the it. Leo and Matt are off to Atlanta this weekend for a filming mission with Skateboarder magazine.
Tosh Townend recently injured his ankle while on an East Coast Element tour. He spent some time recovering in Hawaii with Chris Senn, and has also been doing a little surfing. Tosh should be back on his board in no time.
Toy Machine premiered their newest video offering, Good & Evil, to the skateboard world on October 22 at the House of Blues in Anaheim, California. Ed Templeton opened up the video with the first part, which is really creative and amazing! Austin Stephens came through with some bangin’ tricks and some stylish skating, as well. The rest of the team, along with Ed and Austin, put together some amazing footage that had the whole place screaming. Good & Evil should be in your local shop within the next few days, so be sure to pick up a copy. This is definitely one to have for your collection. If you were lucky enough to be at the premiere, you saw that Emerica raffled off two VIP passes to kids wearing an Emerica or Toy Machine T-shirt. The winners of those passes got to hang out in the VIP area and sit next to Ed during the show. Thrasher is having a Best Video poll on the left side of their Web site. Go there and vote for the Toy Machine video!
Active Ride Shop held it’s annual Blingfest Best Trick contest a few weeks back. Emerica was on hand holding a raffle at the Emerica tent to raise money to help pro skater John Cardiel pay down some of his recent hospital bills. Partaking in the day’s festivities were Emerica riders Heath Kirchart, Andrew Reynolds, Leo Romero and Erik Ellington. Erik helped out with the raffle, pulling the tickets and calling out the winning numbers. A grip of Emerica product was given out in the raffle, including some spankin’ new kicks for the luckiest of the lucky. At a buck a ticket, we were able to raise a few hundred dollars for Cards! Thanks to everyone who came by and showed their support and bought a ticket. Billy Marks won the Best Trick contest by throwing multiple kickflip variations down the rail. Congrats to Billy!
Aaron Suski is in NYC gearing up for a Volcom trip to visit the homies down in Central and South Emerica. On November 12, Aaron flies out with TransWorld Skateboarding photographer Mike O’mealy to Panama City, then it’s off to Peru before returning home to New York on November 22.
Emerica filmer Jon Miner has been busy lately putting together a couple of new video clips for you to feast your eyes on. The first one is a new ad for the Kids in Emerica DVD, speaking of which, you’re slippin’ if you haven’t already got your hands on it yet. The second one is a "New Pro, Bryan Herman" ad featuring some footage of the Herminator from our recent trip out to Holland and France a few months back. As an indicator of how productive Bryan and the rest of the Emerica team were on that trip, just think about this: none of the tricks in Bryan’s ad even made it into the actual article that came out in TransWorld Skateboarding this past month. Talk about slippin’.
