This past weekend’s Emerica demo in Des Moines, Iowa was insane! Emerica pros Andrew Reynolds, Heath Kirchart, Erik Ellington, Kevin “Spanky” Long and Leo Romero have just returned home from their weekend jaunt out to the Midwest to hang out and skate for the 500 plus Kids in Emerica who came to Subsect skate shop and Skate South skate park in Des Moines, Iowa on Friday, April 8.
We went to Subsect first for the signing, where a crowd was hanging out in front when the Emerica team walked up. After signing autographs and chattin’ with some Kids, the guys hopped into the limo that Subsect got for them. Heath invited some Kids in, and they all rode to Skate South together, where the demo went down. Imagine how stoked those kids were to kick it in a limo with their Emerican idols!
The entire skating rink where the demo took place roared while the Emerica team annihilated the course. Thanks to all of you Kids who came out. It was an amazing demo. We’d also like to thank Justin and Clancy from Subsect or hooking it up so much this weekend, and Dan Rogers for setting the whole thing up.
Emerica pros Ed Templeton and Austin Stephens are still out in Barcelona with the rest of Toy Machine team skating it up. They’ll be back home next week.
The Baker crew is kicking it into high gear as the deadline for their video gets closer and closer. Drew, Ellington, Spanky, Herman and Braydon Szafranski are filming every free moment they’ve got, and dropping some serious hammers in the process. Check out the May 2005 issue of Slap, and you’ll see that Braydon got the Curtains article with a sequence of a Cab kickflip down the China Town nine. Yeah, Braydon!
While you’re looking for that, you’ll come across an article about Emerica pro Chris Senn living in Hawaii. Chris has some sick photos at some local spots he’s been searching out on the big island of Hawaii. And you thought people go there to relax!
Emerica am Matt Allen has been spending time in both Victorville and Long Beach, California, skating and shooting photos. He is getting ready to move into a new apartment in Redlands with his brother on Friday. Be sure to scope his recent Blab interview conducted by you Kids.
Hanging out at home in Tucson , Arizona, Emerica pro Aaron Suski is hitting up his local spots and continues to rack up footage for his part in the up coming Birdhouse video. All this after his recent Euro trip!
Emerica pro Tosh Townend is still in Japan with the Element team, skating and promoting the new Elementality Volume One video. Tosh has also been working on his Weenabago Projekt video, which will premiere sometime in May.
