This is because traditional skate shoe tongues are made with layers of dense foam and other materials that are all held together with thick, non-porous glue.
STI has focused on identifying the thermal problem areas of the foot while you skate, and engineered solutions that cool these hot spots. The result of this research is System Flo2™ high air flow breathable tongues. Made with porous reticulated foam and thin, breathable materials which do not require the use of glue, System Flo2™ tongues allow for more breathability.

the mega shoe for emerica right now is the reynolds lights, this, i think g202( not sure if not irs just g2) and flo, and its super light and techy!!
