Andrew Reynolds is on dad patrol for the week. His wife is out of town, so he’s been taking care of his daughter, Stella. Andrew recently bought a new Gibson acoustic guitar, so he’s been jamming on that quite a bit, too. Playing guitar is good way to pass the time with all of the rain that SoCal has been getting. Heath Kirchart has been skating a lot lately when it’s not raining. He just had a sweet two-page spread in The Skateboard Mag issue 26 from an Alien Workshop trip to Atlanta. Also in that issue, be sure to scope the four pages featuring the Baker Christmas Demo.
Ed Templeton has been filming a lot lately with the Toy Machine team for their upcoming Suffer the Joy video. When Ed gets free time, he’s been hitting up the Huntington Beach skatepark and cruising around. He will be signing autographs this Saturday, April 8 around noon in the RVCA tent at the Sun Diego Spring Break Yo’Self Best Trick Contest in San Diego.
Kevin “Spanky” Long was home for a minute from Australia before jet-setting his way out to New York to film with Jon Miner. Spanky will be out there until Monday. In the meantime, check out his two-page Spitfire ad in the April 2006 issue of Thrasher.
Bryan Herman has packed up all of his belongings and is moving into a house that he just purchased in the Victorville area. With five acres of land, you can be sure that he will be building all kinds of stuff to skate. After moving into his new crib, Bryan will be getting suited up this weekend for the private B.Herman shoe release party. It's an invitation-only formal affair with a suit and tie dress code, and cheese and wine will be served up. Talk about fancy! Congrats on the new home and the new shoe, Bryan!
Leo Romero is planning a little filming/photo mission to Arizona next week with Thrasher photographer Michael Burnett for his upcoming interview. Leo will also be signing autographs on Saturday, April 8 around noon at the RVCA tent at the Sun Diego Best Trick Contest. Until then, catch up on some of Leo's coverage with the two-page spread on the Contents page of the May 2006 issue of TransWorld featuring a sweet, tucked ollie with his upcoming Emerica pro shoe plainly visible. Austin Stephens has been skating with Ed and the Toy Machine team, filming for Suffer the Joy. He went on a filming trip up to San Francisco over the weekend, only to get rained out. Austin will also be at the Sun Diego Spring Break Yo’self Best Trick Contest signing autographs at the RVCA tent.
Chris Senn is in China right now, skating the world’s biggest skatepark, The Shanghai Skatepark. Chris will be out there for about a week-and-a-half. That place should be heaven for him. Check out Senn's two-page mini-interview in the Skater of the Year article in the April 2006 issue of Thrasher.
Aaron Suski met up with the Birdhouse team on his own turf this week in Tucson, Arizona. He is traveling around Arizona and New Mexico, filming for the upcoming Birdhouse video.
Brandon Westgate is one busy guy. He’s been on back-to-back trips for the past couple of months for Emerica and Birdhouse. Brandon just got home from the Emerica Stay Gold Tour of Australia, only to turn around and go to the Phoenix Am contest, where he placed 7th. Now he’s on a filming trip through Arizona and New Mexico to work on his part for the upcoming Birdhouse video. Brandon has also been racking up tons of coverage in all the mags.
Braydon Szafranski has been lurking around in Australia for the past few weeks, and he finally returned home today. He will be hanging out with his friends and skating around Los Angeles over the weekend.
Matt Allen has to say goodbye to the house he had been living at in Victorville with Herman. It's being sold, so Matt is moving back to Redlands with his brother. The hubbas in the backyard will be missed by Matt, Herman and all.
