Andrew Reynolds recently enjoyed a little get-away for a couple of days with his wife, Christianna, up in Santa Barbara. Drew has been skating around Los Angeles, and hit up Steve Berra’s private skatepark over the weekend.
Heath Kirchart has been hanging out with Ben Gilley, who was in town last week. They got a couple sessions in at the Zero training facility in Carlsbad. Heath is in Los Angeles right now filming with Greg Hunt for the upcoming Alien Workshop video.
Ed Templeton is currently in Paris right now on a little bit of a vacation before his Deformer art exhibition at Colette. He just finished up a filming trip to Barcelona with the Toy Machine team.
Kevin “Spanky” Long has been in New York for the past week, skating with Jerry Hsu, Dustin Dollin and Patrick O’Dell. He has been hitting up some Zoolander-type parties, and reports that it has been pretty epic. Spanky will fly back to Los Angeles tomorrow and shred around this coming weekend. Look for his likeness over at Epicly Laterd and in a RVCA spread in The Skateboard Mag Issue 28.
Bryan Herman has been busy fixin’ up his new house this week. He knocked out a couple of walls in his living room and threw up some brickwork on a new wall to hang his flat screen TV on. Bryan got some of the dudes who sleep on his floor every night to help out. He has also been skating a lot lately out in Victorville.
Leo Romero is buying a Harley-Davidson motorcycle this week to get ready for Emerica's upcoming Wild Ride tour. He is so giddy about getting it, he can’t wait. Leo was out in Victorville over the weekend, chillin’ with Herman at the pad. Look for a major 14-page Emerica Turkitalia Tour article featuring Leo et al in the June 2006 issue of Skateboarder.
Austin Stephens just returned home from the same trip to Barcy that Ed was on. Austin said the trip was very productive and a lot of fun.
Chris Senn is in Europe right now, hitting up a bunch of different contests. Senn just placed 5th at the Bowlriders contest in Malmo, Sweden over the weekend. The weekend before that, he attended the Asian X Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where he placed 3rd. Senn will appear in Brixlegg, Austria this weekend for the Bowlmasters contest at the Cradle Skatepark.
Aaron Suski has been out in New York kickin’ it at the Volcom house and skating with the homies. Suski is heading back to Tucson for a couple of days this week and then will go back to New York for the weekend.
New pro Braydon Szafranski has been raking in the coverage lately, with a two-page Indy ad in the June 2006 issue of Slap, plus an Ambiguous clothing ad and a sweet frontside flip photo and sequence (with a short interview) in the "When Ams Attack" article in The Skateboard Mag Issue 28.
Matt Allen just recently learned how to drive a stick shift and has been borrowing his bro’s Jetta to skate around Los Angeles. Matt has been shooting photos recently with Nick Scurich from Thrasher.
Brandon Westgate has been clocking tons of coverage lately. He had some sick photos in the Spain article in the June 2006 issue of Thrasher and a pole jam shot in the "Tokyo is Crowded" article in The Skateboard Mag Issue 28. Brandon hung out in New York with the Volcom crew last week and is now back at home in Massachusetts.
Emerica flow rider Marquis Preston has been killing it lately, winning the handrail contest at the Battle of the Shops in Carlsbad over the weekend. This is the second year in a row that he has won that. Marquis also helped Pharmacy Boardshop win the Overall Best Shop award. Congrats, Marquis!
