Wow! Check out his video that Jorge Cervera sent in to Emerica. He is such a ripper! Jorge’s got some bangin’ footage. This is what I like to see in a sponsor me video. He's got tech skills on rails, he leaps down big gaps and he has a solid style. The kickflip back tail on the flat bar, the switch heel down the downhill set of stairs and the back tail to fakie on the handrail all stand out in this video--and that’s just to name a few. I’ve got nothing bad to say about this clip at all. Nice job, Jorge, you have definitely earned a pair of free shoes from Emerica. Everyone should keep an eye out for this ripper, he’s coming up.–Jeff Henderson

Lake Forest goes wild!

All you SoCal wildsters better head on over to the Emerica Mini Wild in the Streets event at the GvR (Goofy vs. Regular) contest at the Skatepark of Lake Forest at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday AND Sunday, October 21-22.

The route will start in the Emerica booth in the festival village area, run up the stairs to Emerica's parking lot, around two buildings, out the front driveway, down Windrow Drive, turn right on Rancho, then right on Lake Forest and end up back at the Emerica booth.

There will be fun stuff going on in the Emerica booth all weekend, and rumor has it there may even be an autograph signing with The Bishop, so we better see you there!

abec-1: Do you think of skating as a job, or just something you do?
Well, it’s definitely something I just do, but at times it could feel like some sort of ambiguous job.

abec-1: Are your parents happy with your career?
Ya, I think they are pretty stoked. I hear them name-dropping all the time. It’s funny.

abec-1: What was the first thing you fell in love with?
The great outdoors.

EmericaSkate1213: Are you constantly under pressure from your sponsors, team managers, peers, etc. How do you deal with it?
There’s pressure here and there, but I know what I have to do.

bakerskater65: What do you think of Dave Bachinsky's kickflip down El Toro? Were you in disbelief when you saw it?
It was pretty gnar, for sure, but I think the last thing I was in disbelief about was watching Chet Childress skate parks up in the Northwest.

proudlyPinoy: Are you a vegetarian? Why / why not?
Part-time veggie. I like fish a lot, and I do eat meat sometimes, but I’m not a big fan. It’s for both health and ethical reasons.

proudlyPinoy: If there was one point in time you could travel back to, when would it be and why?
Maybe I would go back to the Woodstock days just to check out the good music, the vibes and to see the change in society. Or maybe I would go back to the days of Christ to see what really went on. No, wait…maybe I’d go back to the days when the Egyptians built the pyramids, just to see how they rigged them.

xusmx: How did you know that a Suski grind wasn't already a trick? For example, were you just skating and doing back 5-0s then you tweaked one and said, "Oh, crap, man. I don't think anyone else has ever done that. I think I will call it a Suski grind." Was it something like that, or did other people name it after you?

I’m not that vain, dude-ski. That’s just how I did my backside 5-0s. The peoples of the media named that jam.

EmericaSkate1213: What is the best experience you've had during your pro career?

It’s all been grand, man.

KRUD-ben-CO: I also live in upstate New York like you did, and I was wondering if you ever got into snowboarding during the Winter, or did you and your friends find dry places to skate?
I did both when I lived there. I used to go snowboarding all the time. As for skating, my good buddy and I built a ramp in his barn, and there used to be an indoor skatepark not too far from my house. If none of those were happening, we would search out anything that was covered.

SkoopsDeCan: What would you do if the editor for your next video put "She Blinded Me With Science" as your part's song?
Perhaps chuckle a little bit and then hand him a Led Zeppelin CD and say, “Redo that shit, bitch!”

izzy-roxxs: What was the weirdest thing a fan ever gave you?
A homemade necklace made from macaroni.

izzy-roxxs: Have you ever had mud-butt while skating?

I think I’ve been there--nothing too muddy, though.

izzy-roxxs: Have you ever thrown a Skittle into the air and hoped you'd catch it with your mouth, only to have it hit your front tooth and ache for, like, an hour? I know I sure have.
Hmmm, can’t say that I have.

listen20: If you could see the world through a different perspective or through the eyes of someone else, who would it be and why?
I was going to try to be funny on this one and avoid a serious answer, but I really thought about it and I’d have to say the Dali Llama for reasons that are self-explanatory. Or I could keep it on a skating tip and say Danny Way just to see how it would feel to do psycho airs across 75-foot gaps.

killjoy: Have you ever slammed so hard you puked?
No, but I’ve drank so hard I puked.

killjoy: Have you seen the footage of Bob Burnquist taking on the Grand Canyon? If so, what did you think of that?
No, but I went to the Grand Canyon for the first time last week and it was amazing.

SHWING: How the HELL do you pronounce your last name? Is it Suh-ski or Soo-ski? What's the root language or whatever that it comes from?
I pronounce it Suh-ski.

abec-1: Honestly, do you think System G2™ helps?
Honestly, yes.

abec-1: Have you ever skateboarded with a piece of fried chicken in your hand?
No, not fried. It was actually a real live chicken!

EmericaSkate1213: Do you like carressing rusty silverware?
It never crossed my mind, but it sounds kinda dangerous, though.

k-dog: Do you like street or bowl skating more?
Certain grooves for certain moods.

EmericaSkate1213: Who do you think the most up-and-coming am is nowadays?
My homie, Brandon Westgate, but he’s not all about the hype, he just wants to shred.

SHWING: Dude, you look A LOT like that comedian Dane Cook. Has anyone ever compared you two?
Just you, so far. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the guy. He sounds handsome, though.

Note: The interview is over. Don't ask any more questions.
