Back to the Banks went down for the fifth time on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at venerated skate spot the Brooklyn Banks. As usual, there was a lot of skateboarding, chaos and kids, with what seemed like more than 2000 skaters in attendance. A total of $10,000 cash was given out for five different awards: Willy Akers took $2000 for each of the Bank to Wall and Bank to Ledge sections. David Gonzales took home $2000 for the Bump to Spine ledge. Floridian Chris Blake earned his cash for a switch front blunt down the Rail. And second placer Timmy Knuth deserves a mention for his perfect kickflip nosegrind down the Rail. It was amazing. And although he didn’t win any one of the sections, Emerica’s own Collin Provost grabbed the last $2000 for the Overall ripper award. He killed it all day, logging tricks on every obstacle.
