It has come to my attention..

Not really to my attention, but I have noticed that large skate-corprate vultures (Vans, Zumeiz) have taken away the real meaning of being a skater, like with the small core shops that only get you the best stuff, yet kids go to the lare corpo's because of their flashing lights and other advretisements, in 2008 alone 8 core shops closed down and 9 zumeiz/pac sun poser large corporations opened. I bring this up because recently a local core skateshop of mine has closed down, Black wax was the greatest store ever, my homie Mike who opened the store would always be getting the best stuff at extremly low prices, and now they're gone..

So I just wanted to say invest in your local skate shop, not the large skateshop, or as Black Wax would say:

"Support independent cultures, Not coprate Vultures."

  1. Word.
    Shop locally,period.

The image of skateboarding/extreme sports has become popular so people go to mall stores IE pac sun and Zumiez for example to get that image in one convenient place, the mall. The drones outnumber the actual skateboarders that prefer local shops.

  14. This is what I always said about Zumiez and PacSun. This is the reason why I don't shop at those shops. They're rip-offs! You see kids walking around with the same shit on as the next. I love this local skateshop here in Salt Lake called Blindside Co. They've been around since I was a kid, I'm 21 years old now. First place I got my real board! (Toy Machine). I'd hate for them to be out of business because of fucking Zumiez. They don't even sell Altamont gear!

  15. damn i remember that shop, it was at the mall i believe. i got a pair of Emericas there real cheap. They were a collaboration of the Francis. This shop was pretty cool, sucks that its gone now.
