  1. first things first, my advice is so save and get a good camera, because buying one now and getting a shitty one will haunt you later, and a decent fisheye will cost at LEAST $100 (250 for the new optekas) but try to find a cam with a firewire port, so you can import the footy to your cpu with no quality loss, if you transfer with USB your footy will look pixelated and youtube ish before you even post it on utube.

  2. firewire is like USB but alot faster information transfer, with no quality loss, so it looks on a cpu and later dvds, exactly the same quality as if you hooked your cam to your tv, yes if your cpu doesnt have a firewire card you WILL have to put it in, but its very easy and there is only 1 place you can really plug it so you cant mess anything up. :)
