EMERICA IS PROUD TO INTRODUCE BRADEN HOBAN’S FIRST SIGNATURE SHOE, THE HOBAN. WHEN DESIGNING THE HOBAN, BRADEN MADE NO COMPROMISES IN CRAFTING THE PERFECT SKATE SHOE TO COMPLIMENT HIS SKATEBOARDING. BALANCING A TIMELESS SILHOUETTE WITH A CLEAN LOOK AND PLENTY OF SKATE-TECH IS NOT AN EASY TASK, BUT NEITHER IS GRINDING A MILE-LONG HANDRAIL. THE G’S GOT IT! FEATURING A TRIPLE STITCHED TOE CAP AND QUARTER PANEL FOR INCREASED DURABILITY, ROLLED TOE CAP EDGE FOR LONG LASTING FLICK PROTECTION, OPTIONAL LAYERED LACE PROTECTION, EMERICA EM-PACT SHOCK ABSORBING INSOLE FOR ENHANCED IMPACT PROTECTION, DOUBLE WRAPPED VULCANIZED CONSTRUCTION FOR DURABILITY AND SUPPORT, TONGUE STRAPS AND HEEL ANCHOR SYSTEM FOR A LOCKED IN FIT, 400 NBS RUBBER OUTSOLE, CUSTOM WELDED “G” DETAIL ON THE MEDIAL SIDE FOR SIGNATURE FLAIR.
Great **** shoe. Super comfy
3 weeks on the board so far in these. Well built, you can tell it's a premium skate shoe compared to lower price point stuff. This was actually my first vulc shoe ever skated in, always been a cup sole guy but I wanted to support Braden so I made the switch. It's actually more cushioned feel than my last few cup soles (swift 1.5's, and Decenzo's) , the insole is chunky and squishy. Heavier than I was used to, but more bottom heavier feel. Biggest difference if it's your first vulc is the shoe has a larger footprint area when you are looking down at your feet on the board as there is additional wide wrapping on the sole. This makes it flick more off the rubber wrapping initially than with a cup you get more suede cause the sole doesn't stick out as much and wears down quicker. I'll be honest the board break in is taking longer than I'd like to get my flick back, but these things are heavy duty and nice and feel good wearing them. My previous assumption that vulc is not as comfy is not true. The sole is more flexy overall, but the insole makes up for it. Agree you could go down half a size as my heel is lifting a little more than I'm used to, but not a deal breaker. Go for it and support this young man.
Really good. Super cushion and thick. If you have bad knees or heels/do impact ****, these are perfect. Board feel is great. They are a bit heavier than normal emericas, but I ended up liking it for skating.
Only thing is the empact insole maybe has too much arch support for me personally, I wish it was more flat like the G6. but also may just have to break em in more.
This shoe was obviously well designed and thought through. It’s probably the most comfortable skate shoe I’ve owned, has amazing cushion, and is rugged. Great job on the design Braden! 👏👏👏
Ive been skating Emerica for the last pat 20 years, I really support the brand and I love Hoban skating so I ordered the shoes as soon as it was available.
From the Ellington 1 time i was a 8.5 then these days im a 9. And i already had this issue when they redid the MJ they probably took the old sample and redid it, so I had to order twice to get the size right. but then the Hoban came in modern shoes so I know im a 9 (for the lat 3 years ive only been skating KSL6 or Dickson shoes)
First time I tried to put the Hoban it was VERY hard to fit, it kinda hurt, I thought I just needed to break the shoes a bit, ive insisted to wear them a couple time but It always ended with blister and blood on the heel or the toes. So in the end i got back to my KSL6 that seems to be discontinued.
It breaks my heart but I might have to reconsidered my 20 years loyalty to Emerica and try other brands
