The Spanky Hi takes everything skaters love about Kevin “Spanky” Long’s low-top and raises the collar for more support, more protection, and a fresh silhouette. It’s a true high-top skate shoe, offering extra padding around the ankle for stability on landings and defense against board hits, while still maintaining the clean, slim profile Spanky is known for.
High Collar, Same Skate-Ready Feel
Though the Spanky Hi features a taller upper, the underfoot construction stays true to the original: cupsole with a pour-in G6 polyurethane midsole for responsive cushioning and reliable impact absorption. A full-length EVA layer works alongside the G6 foam, offering a consistent feel from heel to toe – no stiff toe box, no dead zones, just smooth boardfeel and comfort.
Reinforced to Handle the Height
Knowing that a high-top adds more strain to seams and panels, Emerica built the Spanky Hi with double-stitched reinforcement throughout, ensuring it stands up to repeated skate sessions. The materials are often suede or a rugged suede/canvas blend, and the construction focuses on durability without bulk, keeping the shoe light and responsive despite the added height.
Slimmed-Down Look, Locked-In Fit

Great shoe, just wish it was a low top. I'm sure you guys could figure out how to do that. Maybe something like... the Spanky G6? Okay I'm done with the sarcasm. Now for the big question: WHY DID YOU STOP MAKING THEM!!! I will personally buy 5 pairs of Spanky G6 if you revive them. That was the best shoe you've ever made.
