Late-90s legend reissued – the OG-1 brings back a bulletproof cupsole and ’90s flair

The OG-1 is a time capsule from the late ’90s, bringing back a timeless Emerica silhouette for today’s skaters who crave that era’s style and toughness. Originally loved for its rugged build and classic aesthetic, the reissued OG-1 stays true to the form that made it an iconic part of Emerica’s history, but with a few modern upgrades to ensure it handles today’s demanding skateboarding.

Built for Durability:
The OG-1 features a full rubber cupsole that can take a beating. It’s been called “bulletproof” for a reason: this thick rubber outsole is designed to survive endless sessions of street and park skating, while the internal EVA midsole provides all-day comfort and impact protection. Whether you’re landing hard or grinding rough surfaces, the OG-1 keeps your feet protected and comfortable.

Tough Upper with Added Comfort:
True to the original design, the OG-1 combines durable suede with breathable mesh panels, offering a great balance of longevity and ventilation while you skate. The triple-stitched reinforcement around the toe and ollie area ensures that these areas hold up longer than most skate shoes, so you can focus on skating rather than worrying about blowouts.

Classic Tread for Superior Grip:
The OG-1 features a classic herringbone tread pattern that provides reliable grip for flips, slides, and tricks. This tread-and-sole combo offers more support and protection than a typical vulcanized shoe, making it ideal for skaters tackling gaps, stairs, and rough terrain. The OG-1 gives you the stability and control needed for more demanding tricks, all while feeling responsive underfoot.

Authentic Design with Modern Comfort:
Even with its beefy build, the OG-1 becomes surprisingly skateable after just a short break-in period. The suede softens up and the cupsole flexes, offering that perfect mix of support and boardfeel that skaters crave. Emerica kept the original design details intact – subtle logo hits, a padded tongue with retro styling, and the overall shape that defined skate shoes of its time. It’s a piece of skate history, now more comfortable and performance-oriented than ever before.

Fix the sole!!

This is literally my favorite shoe ever. Love the shape and style and fit. Its dissapointing that y'all would cheap out this much on the soles. ive gone through 3 pairs in the last year and every time i blow holes in the soles within a month or two. And im not a hardcore skater either. Just from light skating and walking. The sole is made with this like hollowed out grid pattern instead of being solid rubber all the way through. You can see the grid pattern when the holes in the sole start to form. Havent experienced this with any other shoe from emerica or any other brand. Sucks especially for how much you're charging and because the suede upper is such high quality and long lasting. If you were to just make a solid sole it would be the best shoe ever. For now ive switched to other shoes. Let me know when you guys fix it and i'll start buyin em again!

Hey Nico,
Thanks for the feedback on the OG-1. Feedback like this helps us to constantly improve our shoes. I have passed this info on to our design team.

Love this color way, the white tongue threw me off at first but I can always dye it black. The shoe is a comfortable cup sole with a good outer layering of suede protecting your toes and the side you Ollie with. The insole still allows board feel. I suggest having a back up pair of insoles if you want less board feel or really want to keep the shoes “puffy” . I’ve always wanted these shoes because I would always see Jake Phelps rockin them years after MJ left the team. So I knew there had to be something great about these shoes.
