The Spanky Hi takes everything skaters love about Kevin “Spanky” Long’s low-top and raises the collar for more support, more protection, and a fresh silhouette. It’s a true high-top skate shoe, offering extra padding around the ankle for stability on landings and defense against board hits, while still maintaining the clean, slim profile Spanky is known for.

High Collar, Same Skate-Ready Feel

Though the Spanky Hi features a taller upper, the underfoot construction stays true to the original: cupsole with a pour-in G6 polyurethane midsole for responsive cushioning and reliable impact absorption. A full-length EVA layer works alongside the G6 foam, offering a consistent feel from heel to toe – no stiff toe box, no dead zones, just smooth boardfeel and comfort.

Reinforced to Handle the Height

Knowing that a high-top adds more strain to seams and panels, Emerica built the Spanky Hi with double-stitched reinforcement throughout, ensuring it stands up to repeated skate sessions. The materials are often suede or a rugged suede/canvas blend, and the construction focuses on durability without bulk, keeping the shoe light and responsive despite the added height.

Old school feel. 🤙

I'm a 38-year-old skater, and I've been trying to find the perfect pair of shoes that bring back the old school vibe from when I was a youngin just breaking into skateboarding. These shoes are amazing! However, I did replace the insoles with some FP insoles, because the stock ones are a little thin. Not to mention spanky is one of my favorite skaters of all time. These shoes have a great vibe, and skate amazingly!

Exactly what I wanted

Shoes are what I’ve always wanted in a hi top. Never been a fan of the thick ankle section of those types of shoes. This on the other hand feel amazing! Can’t wait to skate them
