Okay well I ordered the black and white or charcoal lock up pully, though after ordering I saw the Forrest description so I had a lurking suspicion it wouldn’t be what I thought I ordered, it arrived today and sure enough, it was the green colored one. I love neutral colors but I’m not gonna complain. Solid quality, and the green kinda hits so thank you guys. Will be going thru yall again in the future.
For me this shoes will always be Marc Johnson, I really like him! So I have a couple of pairs!!!
Shoes are awesome! Toe cap seems tighter than on my skateshop day og1s, no need to size up on these for me. Colors are great!
In a world dominated by big box brands, Emerica keeps pushing out shoes for skaters. Although few to no shoe brands are still "Skater Owned", Emerica still ownes the fact that they ONLY make skate shoes. The Low Vulc is a great example of what can be done by a company who strives to produce what our community needs. Simple but very satisfactory.
Love the shoes, colorways are sick… but terrible the decision to “modernize the shoe” and changing the toe cap to a bullet shape… it crunches your toes… I had to size up from 13 to 14 (see comparison on black and with shoes) you changed the material on the ankle area and now it pushes your toe forward… switch to first iteration of of the shoe add good quality insoles you have the perfect shoe.
I have bought over 20 pairs combined of every colorway you have re issues… I can give you a detail list of all the little changes you have made to the shoe from the MJ To the weird awkwardly shaped and fitting shoe that is is today… but you are ruining it… why change the toe cap WHY?
The OG-1 delivers the grip, durability, and a confidence inspiring feel. Great for park skating! Always getting complements on the black and yellow too.
I'm a 38-year-old skater, and I've been trying to find the perfect pair of shoes that bring back the old school vibe from when I was a youngin just breaking into skateboarding. These shoes are amazing! However, I did replace the insoles with some FP insoles, because the stock ones are a little thin. Not to mention spanky is one of my favorite skaters of all time. These shoes have a great vibe, and skate amazingly!
The outsole started falling apart within an hour of skating. Absolutely unreliable.
Never got my package, lost in mail so far told I need to wait to see if it works itself out🤷🏽♂️
These kicks really take it back to the Golden age of Emerica and skate shoes in general. We absolutely need more throwbacks brought back from the past like these!

I haven’t had these shoes for a month and the rubber toe is split open and the stitching is coming undone. Looks terrible. Will not buy from Emerica again.
Smith has also claimed that the title Close To Me came from the idea that the song was being sung as the protagonist was getting into bed at the end of a bad day: “I never thought tonight could ever be this close to me.”
I absolutely love this shoe! And I absolutely loved the originals! Probably had five or six pairs back in the day. Thanks Emerica for bringing this shoe back!

They’re great, feel great and look great. Sole tech is a very important brand in skateboarding and Emerica will always hold a special place in my heart. I still have the Stay Gold DVD and I watch it often. Please don’t let Nidecker forget the importance that sole tech has in the world of skate footwear. The context and contrast of these unique brands really puts into perspective how much big companies like Nike and Adidas need sole techs authenticity stemming from core skate culture. Or else we’ll lose sight of where we came from, and the story these shoes tell. Love you guys, keep shredding
I wear a size 11, bought them in that size, but right away they didn't hug my heel and I thought I just had to break in the insole, wore them for a full day and it still didn't help. Even bought non slip heel pad things from cvs, didn't help. They feel really good though and you can tell they're good skate shoes, but beware of the heel slip. They were sliding off from just walking, you can only imagine how bad it would be when pushing to set up for a trick
